Mercedes joins StreetCred after an almost 10-year career as a personal finance journalist. She’s worked with renowned brands like CNBC, Money Magazine, Bankrate and more, where she led large editorial and video teams, earning an Emmy nomination in the process.
Her journey into journalism started in Los Angeles in 2008, where she was interviewing celebrities on red carpets. In 2015, Mercedes moved to New York City to pursue her master’s in journalism from NYU, where she found her passion for personal finance.
Mercedes has played a key role in shaping hundreds of personal finance stories that reached millions of readers monthly, and she has a firsthand understanding of how media exposure can drive business growth.
She now resides back in LA with her family, including her son, Luke, and cocker spaniel, Max. When she’s not working, you can find her at the gym or watching her favorite live music.
